Terms of Service

What SpicesBite is

SpicesBite is an editorial guide to Nepali and Indian restaurants. We publish listings, menus, opening hours and written guides to dishes, cuisines and cities. We are not a booking service, a delivery service or a payment processor, and we are not a party to anything that happens between you and a restaurant.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. Give accurate registration details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us otherwise. You may close your account at any time from your settings.

Reviews and other contributions

Reviews must describe your own genuine experience. The following are not allowed, and we remove them when we find them:

• Reviews written in exchange for payment, discounts or other inducements.
• Reviews of a business you own, work for, or compete with.
• Content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, or that identifies private people.
• Copied text, spam, advertising, or links unrelated to the restaurant.

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting it you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reformat and distribute it as part of the service, including in excerpts and listings. That licence ends for new uses when the content is removed, allowing for reasonable time to clear backups and caches. Closing your account removes your reviews; to take down a single review before then, ask us and we will remove it.

Restaurant listings

Many listings begin from public sources, including OpenStreetMap, and are then corrected by our editors and by the restaurants themselves. Opening hours, prices and menus change often and we cannot promise any of them are current. Check with the restaurant before you travel.

If you own or manage a restaurant and want to claim, correct or remove its listing, write to support@spicesbite.app. We verify claims before granting control of a listing.

Acceptable use

Do not scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site beyond what our robots file permits. Do not attempt to break authentication, rate limits or any other control, do not resell access to the service, and do not use it to build a competing database. We may suspend accounts that do.

Advertising

The site carries advertising, which is how it is paid for. Ads are labelled and are kept out of sign-in, account and policy pages. An advertisement is not an endorsement, and we do not control what Google's advertising partners choose to show you. How ad cookies work, and how to turn off personalisation, is set out in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

Our intellectual property

The SpicesBite name, design, and the editorial guides we write are ours. You may link to them and quote briefly with attribution. You may not republish them wholesale or present them as your own.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that listings are accurate or complete, that the site will be uninterrupted, or that it will be free of errors. Dish descriptions, ingredient lists and nutrition figures in our guides are approximate editorial estimates, not dietary or medical advice. If you have an allergy or a medical condition, ask the restaurant.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss arising from your dealings with any restaurant. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why unless we are legally prevented. You may stop using the service at any time. The sections on intellectual property, disclaimers and liability survive the end of your account.

Changes and contact

We will update the date above when these terms change, and give notice in the app when a change materially affects you. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms. Questions go to support@spicesbite.app.
